Aircraft Expected to be Certified by the End of This Year.
On February 27th, 2015 Bombardier completed the first flight of the new CSeries CS300 jet. The first flight occurred at the Montréal Mirabel airport (CYUL / YUL) where Bombardier had around 2,000 people on hand to watch the first flight. The CS300 jet took off from the airport at 11:00 AM EST and flew up to 41,000 feet (FL410), with a top speed of 255 knots. The first flight landed back in Montréal at 3:55 PM EST, a 4 hour and 55 minute first flight. The aircraft's registration is C-FFDK and is the first CS300 jet. The company is expecting that the smaller version of the jet, the CS100, will be certified in the second half of 2015. The CS300 is expected to gain certification six months after the CS100 is certified, which is right around the end of 2015.
