Order Was Previously Announced As From An Unidentified Customer.
February 9th, 2015
Bombardier has announced that American Airlines, Inc was the customer that signed a firm order for 24 Bombardier CRJ900 jets on December 30th, 2014. The company is actually exercising 24 of its 40 options for the CRJ900 NextGen. These options are from American Airlines' order that was placed in December 2013. The aircraft will be placed with PSA Airlines, an American Airlines Group Inc regional airline. PSA was one of US Airways' regional airlines before the merger with American Airlines. The total price for the order is $1.14 billion USD ($1,140,000,000), based on list prices. List prices are not the actual price the airline is paying for the jets. American Airlines has likely gotten a much better deal / lower price in comparison to the list price. The aircraft are expected to start being delivered in November 2015. All 24 CRJ900s are expected to be fully delivered by August 2016.
